Investorus is a Tanzania based (first project was in Oaxaca, Mexico) non-profit that organize tours where “investourists” visit (Dar es Salaam) and invest in the business ideas of local entrepreneurs.
Micro finance solutions have been a huge success throughout the world with Muhammad Yunus and his Grameen Bank. There have been criticism against the micro finance model where loan takers go from entrepreneurs and business owners to people spending their life at crappy jobs in order to pay the interest rate.
The Investours organization is different in that way that they do not require interest alongside the standard amortisation. Thus, Investours is seeking to use this opportunity to reach individuals who might not otherwise be able to afford micro financing.
